I am so excited to bring you my interview this week with J Boog and his longtime friend and fellow reggae artist Jemere Morgan. They were both kind enough to let me interview them while they were in Orlando Performing at the Social last week. Seeing them live really cemented J Boog’s Grammy nomination for me. It was a incredible show J Boog and his band shared the stage with Jemere and Jo Mersa Marley and his band the Trinity. And all three performances were fire. It got so hot and steamy in the Social with everyone bouncing around. The three of them J Boog, Jemere, and Mersa, form a beautiful touring family and it really came through in their live show.
You will hear a few words from Jo Mersa talking about his backing band the Trinity in the very beginning of Jemere’s interview. Mersa is, of course, the grandson of Bob Marley by way of his father, Stephen Marley. I’m not much of one for mystical bullshit, but being in Jo Mersa presence had a special quality to it. If you believe in auras and shit, Jo Mersa’s is gold. He definitely operates on a higher plane of existence. His presence was very calming and his speaking voice is as gorgeous as his singing voice. Same goes for Jemere - maybe I’m just partial to Jamaican accents, but I could listen to them talk all day!

Thanks so much to them to J Boog, Jemere Morgan and Jo Mersa Marley for letting me come on their buses and interview them. I had the best time at their show. Highly recommend you go see them. Special thanks to Owen, J Boog’s tour manager, and Jacob, who is Jemere’s tour manager for their help.
Be sure to pick up J Boog’s album Wash House Ting and Jemere’s album Transition both out now. As always look below for links to all the music used in this episode, and remember to follow Mind Altered Podcast on Facebook and Twitter to stay up on all the latest episodes and events in the greater Central Florida region.
Next week, I don’t know what’s in store. I am going to see the Coathangers in Orlando at Will’s Pub on Saturday, February 4th, and I am hoping to snag an interview with them. So, keep your fingers crossed for that and check out my preview of the show over at ShowsIGoTo.com.
